It started as a West Michigan autumn day in 2021, like so many of the past, but this particular day I felt as time stood still when we received the news that my grandma was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Her time here on earth was projected to be anywhere from six to twelve months. She fought hard, and held on as long as she could, but it was her time to go – Christmas Eve of that year.

My grandma was a nurse in the pediatric oncology ward for many years, and I believe her desire to take care of others is the biggest gift that she has passed down to me. I made a promise to myself that I would let her spirit live through me each and every day. Her spirit, I believe, propelled my journey into herbalism.

My personal herbal apothecary started small and basic, but slowly grew nearly beyond the walls of my bedroom. While at first it felt like a hobby, it has since become my way of living. It was at that point that I decided to take this passion of mine to create a business, and carry on my grandma’s legacy by helping others.
